Bits In Glass named one of Canada’s Top Employers for the second year in a row
Edmonton, AB – April 6, 2021 – Bits In Glass, a software consulting firm helping companies digitally transform their operations, is proud to announce it’s been named in the 2021 list of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for the second year in a row.
Now in its 8th year, the annual Top Employers list recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that provide great workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies in Canada. Employers are evaluated on a number of criteria including work atmosphere, employee communications, training and skills development, and more. For 2021, employers were also evaluated on what they did for employees during COVID-19.
When the pandemic began, Bits In Glass immediately mobilized a more rigorous and consistent communications cadence from upper management. The leadership team began hosting a bi-weekly virtual town hall style “Corporate Update” outlining COVID-related updates, changes in policies, and announcements of new, virtual team engagement activities and contests. Then, every other week features a CEO Update video from the three CEOs sent to all employees sharing business updates, successes, and more.
“The well-being of our employees has always been our top priority at Bits In Glass,” says Patrick Golec, Founding Partner and Integration Practice Lead for Bits In Glass. “With COVID-19, it was a no-brainer for us to step up and take on more communication and engagement initiatives to ensure our employees stayed informed, supported, heard, and appreciated with regular activities.”
Bits In Glass has coverage across North America, with Canadian offices in Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto, American offices in Denver and Dallas, and remote employees across the continent. The past year has featured engaging company-wide virtual activities like the BIG Chopped Challenge; a cooking competition modeled after the popular Food Network show, virtual escape rooms, a holiday desk decorating competition, weekly virtual happy hours, lunchtime Netflix movie parties, and much more.
The 2021 Top Employer winners were announced this morning online and in a Globe and Mail special issue.
